Method 2 : By Using the Format Menu
Another way to add a dollar sign to the list of numbers in the cell is by using Format Menu.

Method 3 : By Using Accounting Format
- You can also add a dollar sign in Google Sheet using the accounting format option.
To add a dollar Sign in Google Sheet using accounting format follow the below steps :

- Under Format Menu drop-down ,Select Number.
- Under Number Click on Accounting as shown below.

How to change the default currency in google sheets
If your default currency Sign is not a dollar Sign ($) as shown below .You can change the default currency following the below steps.

Go to File menu in the Main menu and Click on Setttings.
