Step 1 : Open Google Sheets

Step 2 : Prepare your dataset

Open en existing google sheet with Pivot table or create a new google Sheet with required data set

In this example we will use the below dataset

Step 3 : Create A Pivot table for the dataset

Now we will create a Pivot table for our dataset.

  • Click on any cell within the data set and press CTRL+A to select and highlight the entire dataset .
  • Now Click on the Insert menu and Select Pivot table from the drop-down

Specify the Pivot table destination where you want to insert the Pivot table either new sheet or existing Sheet and Click on Create button .

Go to the newly generated Pivot Table Sheet and navigate to the Pivot table editor on the right hand side of your Sheet.

Add rows,columns and Values on the Chart editor as per your dataset

In this example we have added division and sub division to the Rows and number of units ,price per unit to to values (as columns)

It will create a Pivot Table which looks like below screenshot

Step 4 : Customize the default Pivot table theme

  • To Customize the theme ,click on the Format menu on the Main toolbar .
  • Under Format Menu Select Theme option from the drop-down.

  • Once you click on Format ->Theme ,a new Theme window will pop-up on the top right corner of your Google Sheets.
  • You can either choose a theme from a set of ready made themes provided by google sheets or click on Customize button to select you own custom theme colors

We have selected the Energetic theme for this example.

Step 5 : Add a border and center the text under Pivot table

Now we will highlight the dataset and a include a border across every cell in the Pivot table.
