Enclosed are the steps the steps to Indent Citations on Google Docs
To indent citations on Google docs you need to use hanging indents which are normally used for APA,MLA, Chicago citation styles.
Step 1 : Open your Google docs document where you need to indent citations
Step 2 : Select the citation on your google doc that you need to indent .
Using your mouse drag on top of the citations and release mouse click to select the citation .
Once the citations is selected it will appear in Blue color as shown below.
Step 3 : Go to the Fomat menu and Select “Align and Indent“
- Navigate to the Main menu bar and Click on the Format menu.
- From the format menu drop ,select “Align and Indent“
Step 4 : Under Align and Indent drop-down menu,Click on “Indentation Options“
Step 5 : Indentation options screen will pop-up
Step 6 : Select the “Hanging” option under Special indent drop-down
Navigate to the Special indent option and Click on the down arrow infront of it to get the drop-down options.
From the Special Indent drop-down ,Select Hanging
Step 7 : Adjust the values in Left ,Right and Special indent for hanging.
You will notice the below message as soon we select hanging.
“For this Selection,the start and special indents must both be set “
- Specify a value in Left, Right and Special Indentation.
- Now Click on Apply
Now your selected citation in google doc will appear as per the indentation settings .
