In this example we will use the Page setup option from the file menu to adjust the margin settings in cms for top, bottom, left, and right.
Step 1: Logon to your google docs document.
Step 2: Click on the File menu on the Main menu bar .
Step 3: Select “Page Setup” under File Menu
Once you click on the File menu, Scroll down and select “Page Setup” from the available options.
Step 4: Set the top, bottom, left, and right margin to 1 cm on the Page Setup screen.
- Once you click on the Page Setup option, the Page Setup window will pop-up
- Under Page Setup windows, adjust the top, bottom, left, and right margin to 1 cm.
Step 5: Click on OK to reflect the changes
Margins will be set to 1 inch on top, bottom, left, and right.
In case you want to revert back the changes and set the Default to google docs settings. Simply go back to the page setup option and Click on “Set as default “
How to make 1-inch margins in google docs using Ruler
The second method to make 1-inch margins in google docs is using the ruler option.
Here are the steps to make 1-inch margins in google docs using the ruler.
Step 1: By default, you will see the ruler in Google docs, in case the ruler is not visible, click on the “View” menu and select “Show Ruler”
Ensure that the “Show Ruler” option is checked under the “View” menu on the main menu bar.
Step 2: Navigate to the grey area at any end of the Ruler.
Step 3: As soon you navigate to the grey area, your cursor will turn into a two-sided arrow
Step 4: Once you see the arrow sign, just click and start dragging to change the margin as per your requirement.
