While writing a text or paragraph in Google Docs we might make some spelling mistakes. To solve this problem google docs comes with an auto-correct feature. Let’s find out how to turn on autocorrect on google docs.
To use autocorrect in Google docs .
Use Spelling and Grammer Check. Go to Tools-> select “Spelling and grammar“->” Spelling and grammar check”
Use Preferences Option and adjust your preferences. Go to Tools->Preferences

Using Spelling and Grammer Check
Step 1 : Open your google docs document
Open your google document and go to the Tools menu in the main menu bar. Under Tools menu dropdown select “Spelling and grammar“->” Spelling and grammar check” as shown below
You can also use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+ALT+X

Step 2 : Review and Accept the suggestions
Once you click on Spelling and grammar check. A new screen will pop up which will provide the correct suggestion for the incorrect spelling.
Review the spelling and Click on accept

In case of correct spelling, you will get the below screen.

Using Preferences Option
Step 1: Open your google docs document
Open your google docs and navigate to the tools menu. Under tools go to preferences
Tools->Preferences

Step 2: A new pop-up screen will appear with Preferences and multiple lists of options.
Out of the available list Under Preferences>general, Select your preferred settings and make sure the checkbox “Automatically correct spelling” checkbox is checked

Click OK to save your preferences. Once your preferences are saved google docs will automatically correct your text.
