Enter your sample data in a single column in Google Sheets.In this example, we will calculate the variance of a Sample data
Choose a specific cell where want to display the calculated variance values and type the formula “=VAR(A2:A8)” as shown below.
In the below example we have selected cell B2 and specified the range of cells A2 to A8 within the VAR function.
Once you press the enter key the variance will be calculated for the selected sample data values.
Confirm Google Auto-fill to apply the formula to the rest of the cells in the Column.
Google sheets will display the decimal values up to 8 decimal places. In case you want to display fewer decimal places you can use the Decrease Decimal Places button from the toolbar.
