Enclosed are the steps to plot time series graph in Google Sheets
Step 1: Open Google Sheets
Step 2: Prepare your dataset for which you want to plot time series graph
In the below example we have date and value in Column A and Column B for which we want to plot time-series graph
We will create Line, Area, Scatter, and Time Line charts for the following data
Step 3: Select the data set
Now Select the dataset, Click on A2 and then press CTRL+A which will select all the entries in your spreadsheet.
Step 4: Now Click on the Insert menu and Select Chart
Insert->Chart
Step 5: Select the required Charts
Once you click on Chart, Chart Editor window will pop up.
Line Chart is selected by default.
You can select the required charts such as Area, Scatter, and Time Line and specify a title
To insert other Chart types click on the down arrow in front of Line Chart Chart under Chart type to get Suggested Chart options.
Now Scroll down to find the required Chart types
After Selecting and adjusting the Chart Size the final output will be as shown below.
If you are selecting a bar chart it will consider data under the Date column as string and return a sequential value.
