To search Google docs by the date you need to perform an advanced search in Google drive.
Following is the syntax supported by Google drive
Search with before & after
- Search items that were modified before and after a specific date.Format the date as YYYY-MM-DD.
- Examples:
- before:2022-04-04
- after:2022-04-04
For example, if you want to search a document created before the 4th of April 2022, you can use the below syntax and it will search all the documents created before the specified date.
As you can see in the below screenshot a date condition has been applied.
How to find the creation date of a document in Google Docs
To find the creation date of a document follow the below steps
Step 1: Open Google docs
Step 2: Go to File->Version History->See Version History.
- Click on the File menu on the Main menu bar
- From the File menu drop-down Select Version History
- Under Version History Click on “See Version History“
Now you will see all the different versions of the document along with the creation and modification date.
