How to make a Mind Map on Google docs: Step-by-Step Guide

Here are the steps to make a Mind Map on Google docs :

To create a mind map in Google docs you can use the Google docs drawing app which is integrated into Google docs.

Open your Google docs where you need to create a mind map.

Once you click on Insert->drawing>new, A drawing board screen will pop up.

Now Click on the Shape icon as shown below.

Under the Shape icon, Click on Shapes and choose your desired Shape

Here we have chosen a rounded rectangle to depict our main concept or idea.

Now fill the Shape with your mind map’s central idea or main concept.

Now using shapes again draw the sub-topics for your mind map
Simply select the existing Shape and press CTRL+C to copy it.
Now use CTRL+V to paste it below the main idea on the drawing board and replicate it as shown below.
After copying edit the Text

Now using the line option connect the main idea to its subtopics

The mind map will be inserted into your google docs

In case you need to edit the Mind map further just double-click on the mind map on your Google docs and it will take you back to the drawing editor.

For example, you want to change the color of the Shape and text.
