How To View Two Pages Side By Side In Google Docs
Option 1: Using the keyboard shortcut
Step 1: Open both the google docs in multiple browser windows.
- Open the first Google doc in a browser window.
- Now click on the three dots on the top right corner of the browser window and select New Window.
- On the New browser, Window open your Google doc.
Step 2: Use the keyboard shortcuts to resize
- Open the first Google docs document and Press the keys simultaneously with the Windows sign and right arrow Win Key + Right arrow. This will move your first document to the right-hand side
- Now to move the other document to the left-hand side press the Win key + Left arrow key
- Once you click on Win key + Left arrow you will get option to choose from multiple Windows which are opened .
- Select the Second Google Docs browser window.
Option 2: Using Multiple Windows and Resizing
Step 1: Open the google doc
- Open the google docs which you want to view side by side.
Step 2: Open another Window
- Navigate and click on the three dots on the upper right of the browser window and select “New window “.You can also use the keyboard shortcut CTRL+N
- Open your google doc on the newly opened window.
Step 3: Minimize the docs using minimize button.
Click on the minimize button on both the windows where you have opened your google docs.
- Once you minimize both the Google docs Window, you can view both the windows side by side.
- Adjust the Browser window with the mouse drag as per your convenience.
- Move the mouse cursor to the right-hand side middle border or left-hand side middle border of the Google docs window.You will get a two-headed arrow sign using which you resize

Option 2: Using Split Screen for Chrome Extension
- Install the Split Screen Chrome Extension from Chrome Webstore.
- Split Screen Chrome extension can also installed on Microsoft Edge
- Click on Add to Chrome
Click on Add extension
Once the extension is installed ,Go to Extensions on Top right corner of the browser Window and Click on Split Screen for Google Chrome extension.
- This will open the Split screen for Google Chrome extension.
Now to Split the screen and view two pages side by side in Google Docs.Click on 1*2 option
- This will split your screen and you can adjust and view both the Google docs pages side by side
- Tabs can be easily split and separated, the interface layout can be split, and tabs can be resized by columns and rows.
- The window ratio can be changed to suit your requirements.
